ENJOYABLE REUNION.
BANQUET AND SOCIAL.
Ov«r 600 ex-pupils and member* of the staff of the Ellerelie School attended the banquet and social held in the Farmers' Trading Company Reception Hall on Saturday night in connection with the school reunion celebrations. Guests had come from all parts of New Zealand and, as many of them had not met for many years, a happy evening was spent reviving reminiscence* of old school day*.
The guests at the official table were: Mr. A. G. Osborne, member of Parliament for the dietrict, and Mrs. Osborne; the chairman of the reunion executive committee, Mr. D. Bines, and Mrs. Bines; the deputy-chairman of the Auckland Education Board, Mr. C. R. Munro, and Mrs. Munro; the. secretary-organiser, Mr. A. T. Dow, and Mrs. Dow; a former headmaster, Mr. J. J. Wooller, and Mrs. Wooller; Mr. and Mrs. H. A. Mattson, Mr. and Mrs. H. J. White, Mr. and Mrs. R. M. Blackwell, Mr. and Mrs. H. J. Austin, Mr. and Mrs. A. H. Mclntyre, Mrs. E. I. Chaafe, Mr. J. Marsh, Mr. H. O. Warren, Mr. M. McCallum and Mr. H. Brisbane.
After the honouring of the toaste, community singing was enjoyed. This was followed by a programme of recitations by Mrs. E. M. Foster and Miss M. Kilgour, pianoforte solos by Miss E. Ntitt, and song* by Mr. H. J. Austin and Mr. D. Foreman, and humorous sketches by Mr. Alan McElwain. The accompanist was Mr. G. Paltridge.
Members of the ladies' committee present comprised Mrs. J. H. V. Carr, Mrs. J. Davidson, Mrs. E. J. Williame, Mrs. H. Barnett. Mrs. G. Whaley, Miss V. Peterson, Miss ST. Peterson. Miss Joyce Williame, Mise A. M. Smith, Miss W. Adams.
