MANAGER OF RAILWAYS. ARTICLE IN MAGAZINE. (By Teipffrnpli.—Press Aswxriiation.) CHRISTCHI'RCH. this day. Exception is taken by the Canterbury rail way men at the action of the peneral manager of railways. Mr. ('•. H. Macklcy, in eriticisinfj Mr. J. S. Roscoe in an article in the "Railways Magazine." At the last meeting of the Canterbury branch of Amalgamated Society of Railway Servants. the following motion was carried: "That this branch regards with disapproval the action of the general manager in attacking an individual member of the staff through the medium of a State organ. This branch commends the stand taken by Mr. Roscoe and support* him in demanding an inquiry into Appeal Board methods and an overhaul of the Railwavs Act."
