IN COLLISION.
TWO VESSELS DAMAGED. * VEHICULAR FERRY AXD BARGE. Windscreens on several motor cars which were travelling on the ferry were broken by flying pieces of wood when a collision occurred on the harbour about 0.10 o'clock last nipht, between the vehicular ferry Eaplehawk and the barge Combine. The mishap, in which no one was injured, occurred just off the Eastern tide deflector. The barge, which was being towed from Kopu, Thames coast, with a load of sand by the launch Mona's Isle IT., was damaged on Ihe port bow. Its bowsprit was smashed and the bulwarks stove in. The l>ow rudder of the ferry was put out nf commission. In fact, some flight delay was caused to the vehicular service through the Eaglehnwk having to be withdrawn from the After a short dolay both craft were able to continue their journeys, the ferry to Devon port, and the barge to Freeman's Biiy. On arrival at Devon port, the ferry, commanded by Captain C. Windsor, diV cmharked the dozen or so vehicles carried. When the Eaglehawk left for the city to he tied up pending an examination, slip had to make a complete turn off Devonport to permit the sound rudder to he used. Tlie barge, with the launch, of which Captain A. Cole is master, continued on to the wharf of Messrs. Winstone, Limited, the firm which owns, both barge and launch. Captain Windsor and his crew were transferred to another ferry which wae put on to assist the Korea in the service.
