ROTARIAN VISITORS.

INDIAN FLAG PRESENTED

A large number of visitors attended to-day'* luncheon meeting of the Auckland Rotary Club, held in Milne and (. hoycu'ri reception hull. Xhone present included the following:—LieutenantColonel Basil (Pooiu:, India), Mr. W. L. Martin and Dr. H. C. Trumble (I'nley, South Australia), Wilfred Brown (Walsall. England). D. H. Boyce (Woodland, California), K. N. Price (Ballarat) and Win. Sinclair (Sydney). Stating that the members of his club represented eight nationalities and tive languages, Lieutenant-Colonel Basil, who its on his way to the International Rotary Conference to be held at Clevedoii, Ohio, presented to the Auckland Club a Poona Hag. Thus wae acknowledged by the president, Kotarian W. E. Lewishani, who handed the visitor an Auckland Club Hag in return.

Other visitors included Messrs. Chas. Coote, L. C. Trembath (Whangarci). F. C. Rush Munro (Hastings), D. J. Wesney and Colonel Hargo-t (Invercaigill), M. P. Webber (Sydney), V. C. Jonees (Wellington), W. H. L.'Roberts and W. B. Morris (Dargaville).

The president reported that International Rotary had decided that the Rotary Endowment Fund, established to ensure the perpetuation of Rotary, was being allowed to lapse. Accordingly the insurance policy arranged locally as a contribution had been liquidated and the amount realised had been forwarded to Rotary'e head office.

The speaker of the day was Rotarian Frank Sutherland, whose subject was: "The Story Behind the Savings Bank." The vote of thanks was moved by Rotarian Wilfred Fortune.
