CARD AFTERNOON.

EASTERN STAR. An enjoyable function was held in George Court and Sons' tea rooms yesterday, when Mrs Lyall Tinling acted has hostess for a bridge party given under the auspices of the Order of the Eastern Star. The room was colourful with scarlet leaves and berries. The bridge and players of 500 included: Mrs. Lyall Tinling, Mrs. N. H. Dix'on, Mrs. A. P. Shaw, Mrs. T. A. dotty, Mrs. D. Buchanan, Mrs. W. W. Bowke. Airs D. G. Hendry, Mrs. J. Bree, Mrs. W. Shirley, Mrs. W. A. Gribble, Mrs. C. H Dell, Mrs S. M. Hamilton, Mrs. Jackson, Mrs. H. W. Kennett, Mrs. A. Maney, Mrs. E. G. Coleman, Mrs. B. Nicholson and Miss Dorie Stewart.
