BEACH HAVEN DEDICATION.
The fifty ninth anniversary of the Birkenhead Methodist Church "was celebrated yesterday by social services. The preachers were the Rev. F. J. .lack, of Mount Eden, in the morning and the Rev. H. H. Jeffreys last night. Anthems were rendered by the choir, under Mr. J. Wright, and -solos by Mesdames J. Wright and H. H. Jeffreys. The organist was Mr. L. S. Stewart. The offer tories at the services amounted to £34.
BIRKENHEAD METHODISTS.
There was a large gathering at Bea<-h Haven on Saturday at the opening of the new Methodist Church. The Rev. H. H. Jeffreys presided. The building was formally declared open by the Mayor of Birkenhead, Mr. E. J. Osborne. The dedication ceremony was performed by the chairman of the Auckland district, the Rev. F. Copeland, who commended the enterprise and enthusiasm of those responsible. Congratulations from the Birkenhead circuit were conveyed by Mr. Alan Wilson, and the financial statement was read by Mr. A. B. Rowland?, secretary of the Beach Haven Church Trust. An enlarged framed photograph of John Wesley for the new building was presented by Mr. and Mrs. A. B. Rowlands. During the dedication service solos were rendered by Mrs. H. H. ' Jeffreys and trios by Mesdames n. H.Teffrcys and J. Wright and Mr. J. Wright. The piano a.-companiments were played hy Mr. L. Stewart. Tile offertory amounted to more than £21. The siim of £200 was raised locally and the building was erected by volunteer workers. The only debt is £150 advanced from the Church building loan fund.
