TRANSPORT BOARD LOAN.

AUTHORITY FOR HIGHER INTEREST. The Auckland Transport Board decided today to apply to the Local Government Loans Board for an amending Order-in-Council authorising a hljllier rate of interest than H\ per cent in regard to the recently-floated Tran:,port Consolidated Redemption Loan t\'->-iSi of £000,000.

The. secretary. Mr. C. R. Grihble. reported that only £8700 of the loan had been iaieod at the present rate, and pointed out that the Government had now agreed to the rate of interest payable by local b'xlie* being increased to 4. per cent.
