Herbert (icorge Wood, pleaded gnilty in the Police Court to a charge of intoxication while iu charge of a motor car. "Jt is difficult to know what to do in this case, hut you deliberately drove the car when you were iu that state," said Mr. -I. L. Stout. S.M.. when sentencing accused to 14 days' imprisonment. "At 1.1.1 a.m. to-day a constable heard a loud crash from the direction of Whitmore Street." said Sub-Inspector I). J. O'Neill, who prosecuted. "The unstable investigated, and found a small car which hud capsized near a sharp bend. Six bottles of beer and several glasses were in the car. and when the police arrived accused tried to cover them up. He wa.s taken to the police station and was certilied by a doctor as being under the influence of liquor and not in a lit state to drive a car." Accused's current driver's license was siisjiended. and he was prohibited from obtaining another for 12 months. I GARDENER FINED. (From Our Correspondent.) HAMILTON, Thursday. | A fine of £•"> was imposed on Jack Whyte. a gardener, when he appeared in the Hamilton Police Court before Mr. S. J,. Paterson. S.M., on a charge of intoxication while in charge of a motor cycle. Accused's license was suspended for a rear.
