NEW WOMEN'S CLUB.

TALK BY MISS ROOT.

Mrs. TV. B. Barlow presided at a wellattended meeting of the New Women's Club, when members, and their guests were, addressed by Miu .Martha L. Root, of New York, a writer on the "World Order"' magazine of that eity.

Miss. Root spoke on "Universal Education for Women." She sought to showthat with the world at the beginning of a new epoch of power there was an urgent need for international thinking. National thinking had not brought about the peace we all desired. Only international thinking, she said.' would accomplish it. The world had only one problem, said Miss Root, ami that was to learn to live together as neighbours.

Equal education for the sexe*. with international exchange of student*. would teach people to live in harmony, continued Mis* Root. "Any effective movement towards world peace must have a spiritual foundation allied with constant service towards our fellowmen."' she said. "If all women would do their part by standing together and hy letting (tod's influence be felt they could move the world."' The best way to speak, concluded Miss Root, was Indeed*. Mrs. Barlow thanked Miss Rooi for her very line address. Mis. ,1. K. liovd. delegate to the National Council ' in' Women, gave her report on the business transacted at the present council meeting.
