YOUTH'S OFFENCE.
MOTOR CAR CONVERTED. INTOXICATION ADMITTED. (By Telegraph—-Press Association.) NEW PLYMOUTH, this day. A sentence of one month's imprisonment was imposed on Bernard Laurence Finch (18), who admitted charges of converting a motor car and intoxication while in charge of a car when he appeared before Mr. W. H. Woodward, S.M., in the New Plymouth Police Court. Accused was admitted to probation, while bis license was cancelled, and he ■was instructed to take out a prohibition order for TV period of two years. "My purpose is your reformation, rather than your punishment or the deterrent effect on others," said the magistrate. "My principal purpose is your reformation, but I must administer • sharp lesson to you."
