OYSTER CONCENTRATE.
SHIPMENT TO ENGLAND. (From Our Correspondent.) IXVERCARGILL, Wednesday. The first shipment of oyster concentrate will leave BlufV in a few days for England, a firm of brewers having placed an order for it for the purpose of making oyster stout. It is hoped that this will be the first of regular shipments to England and other parts of the world. The concentrate, when mixed with stout, is equal to one oy.ster per glass, and in its concentrated form is stated to be more efficacious than oysters in their raw state. With a view to using the oyster con cent rate for a tonic wine one of the worlds leading firms has l»een conducting experiments for some time with the Fovcaux Strait product and encouraging success has been met with.
