The Manawatu Racing Club will hold a two-<lay winter fixture at Awnpuni this month, and on the first day's programme is the Manawatu Winter Cup, one mile and a quarter. This race has attracted twenty-three entries, and it should provide a good contest. Several of those nominated have engagements at Otaki on Saturday, and their efforts there may assist in solving the problem. Catalogue, who won the Melbourne Cup, is at the head with 9.7. This horse has not raced in Xew Zealand since he won the Winter Cup at the Grand National meeting at Riccarton last AiiKuet. However, he is stated to lie coming to his best again.
