HE LIKES AUCKLAND.
SAIVATIGN ARMY OFFICER. ADMIRES RAILWAY STATION. "Auckland has made amazing advances." said Commissioner James Hay, of the Salvation Army, last evening before he left for Wellington. "It is about, eijflit years sin«-e I wia* last here, and the w'hole eity gives evidence of prosperity null careful civic planning, ,, said tli' commissioner. "I have spoken everywhere of the. beauty of Aucklaii'l. but it seems even more beautiful than 1 thought it was."
The new railway station, is a wonderful example of what I mean; it is a magnificent building. I ha.ve travelled nil over the world, from Archangel to Vancouver, through the great American cities, throughout Russia, and on all parts of the Continent, and must say that this structure compares most favourably with all other railway stations. Ft* layout seem* conducive to the easy handling of crowds and the designers must be congratulated upon their work. They have built for the future.
"Yes." he added. "I will still be an ardent advocate for Auckland wherever I go; it is a most glorious city."
