SEARCH FOR ARMS.
Nazi Stories Of Brutality Without Foundation. TROOPS IN PALESTINE. British Official Wireless. RUGBY, May 2. In Palestine for the last few days the West Yorkshire Regiment lias* been conducting a careful search of Beit Rima village for arms and ammunition belonging to terrorists. The totnl arm* found amounted to 37 rifles, one shotgun and 1100 rounds of rifle ammunition. A thorough search took place quietly and without incident. The German radio broadcast from Berlin in Arabic, however, invented stories of appalling atrocities by the troops. LARGE ARMED GANG. FIGHTING AT- NAZARETH. (Received 10.30 a.m.) LOXDOX, May 2. Severe fighting broke out at Nazareth at midnight. A large armed gang invaded the town, set fire to the Government health offices and other buildings, stoned Barclay's Bank and cut telephone communications. Several Arab civilians were killed and wounded.
