Nothing was said fihout Bovcy taking the car to Napier to sell it there for witnee*. Det.ertivn K. \V. Mills, of Napier, said ho found the car abandoned ill Thackeray Street. Mr. Noble submitted it could not be *aid that Bovey had "no colour of rijjht," as the cltarjre stated. He had actually been given permission to take the car. The lejral distinction between tl»*ft and unlawful conversion was explained by hie* Honor. It wa« eugjrested that Bovey converted the car to his own use when he took it from Auckland to Napier without authority. After a ehort retirement the jury returned with a verdict of guilty. Accused wae remanded for sentence.
