GUILD CONFERENCE. ELECTION OF EXECUTIVE. (from Our Own Correspondent.) WELLINGTON, this day. The Post and Telegraph Officers' Guild, representing the senior and controlling officers of the Department, held its ninth annual conference in Wellington last week. Proceedings were opened by the acting Director-General, Mr. J. G. Young, and the main questions considered by delegates were salaries and the economic welfare of senior officers generally. Among other things suggestions were made for improving administrative and executive control, the effective training of junior officers and the operation of the P. and T. Appeal Board. Delegates were present from various parts of the Dominion, and Mr. H. A. Colvin, of Nelson, presided, and the conference proved one of the most successful ever held by the guild. The election of the national executive resulted at* follows: —President. Mr. (■olvin; vice-presidents, Messrs. S. A. Bennett, Auckland (re-elected), and L. H. .Steel, Wellington; general secretary and editor. Mr. V. B. Cade, Wellington (re-elected); assistant-secretary and treasurer, Air. J. I. AT. Hill, Wellington; hon. auditor. Air. P. F. Stevens, Wellington, together with a management committee, all resident in Wellington, and representing the districts noted: Messrs. N. F. Cook. Auckland; .1. D. Magce. Hamilton; J. C. Greig.
