VALUABLE GUN.

Fires Electric Ray Instead

Of Bullets.

USE FOE TRAINING ARMY

Independent Cable Service. (Received 10 a.m.)

MOSCOW, April 19.

Soviet research experts have perfected an "electric ray gun," which, it is claimed, will result in enormous economies in bullets and powder in train-' ing the Red Army.

Instead of firing bullets during practice with revolvers, rifles and cannons, it will "fire" a slender light beam at a target by means of an electric lamp concealed in the barrel, which throws a beam through a lens in the muzzle when the trigger is pressed.
