IN FOLEY MEMORIAL. SILVER CLOUD IN ROSEBANK. BRONWEN'S WIN POPULAR. Round Up put up a great performance to win the Foley Memorial Handicap, the principal event of the day. With half the distance covered, he wa6 in a rear position, but he was prominent by the time the straight, was reached, even thongh half a dozen horses were then in front of him. He made a fine effort in the straight and, galloping over everything, won nicely. Gold Vaals, who was 6ccond, and Golden Sheila (third) were ateo a long way back early, and their performances were full of merit. Passing the stand. Anion had charge from Galilee, Rulette. After racrng in a han-V position for the first mile, Airam went to the front crossing the top and •scored a comfortable win. It was a really good performance as she carried a solid weight. Mia Acrea and Agog were responsible for most of the pace, but the former weakened a couple, of furlongs from home and Agog came on the better to get second money. Mia Acrea, Agog and Tnt'»r went to the lead early from Airam and Electric Spear, but, passing the stand. Agog was in front of Mia Acrea, with A-ram. Tutor and Electric Spear handy. No change occurred at the turn for home, and Airam went on to win by a length and a half from Agog, with Mia Acrea two and a half lengths away. Tutor and Electric Spear were next.

Strong Finishing Run.

In winning the Rosebank Handicap Silver Cloud improved on her performance at Tauranga and outstayed the opposition. She was always in a handv position and came home "well. Vaalso was a long way back in the early stages, but finished on strongly to defeat Royal Fawkes for second money. Royal Fawkes, who was a pronounced favourite, had every chance.

Bronze Moth gave a bit of trouble at the start and when they were let go Cintrace led out from Royal Fawkes, Kittle, Nordic Star and Silver Cloud. The last-named followed Cintrace alon<» the back, with Royal Fawkes and Hunt" ing Squire handy; -then came Nordic Song, Kittle, Vaalso and Tupeotu. There was no change as thev came into the straight, but Silver Cloud came through over the last furlong to score by a length and a quarter from Vaalso, with Royal Fawkes a neck awav. Nordic Song was fourth, followed by Kittle, Bronze Moth, Lady Kew, British Talent and Gay Opal. Fine Finish. Bronwen, who showed good form at the spring meeting at Ellerslie, jumped out smartest in the Chevalier Handicap and, taking charge when the field had settled down, she was not afterwards headed. Veritable ran a sound race for second, while Aero King, who did not get the best of the running, came home strongly to beat Blonde Princess for third place.

Huntingmore and Spearford were the first to break the line, with Bronwen, Te Takina and Blonde Princess next!

Once they settled down, Bronwen ran to the front and led across the top from Te Takina, Blonde Princess, Veritable and Huntingmore, with Aero King, Spearford, Gamos and Bright Wings handy. There was little change at thv home turor and over the last furlong Blonde Princess challenged on the rails and Veritable made a fast forward move on the outside. Aero King also chimed in.
