Street lighting in Kaifeng. which the Chinese invaded after mopping up the Japanese in the outskirts, resulted in 700 Japanese casualties. Heavy fighting continues in C'hun"--siang and Yangshih. Three Japanese war 'planes shot down near Laokas a Junkers passenger 'plane belonging to the Sino-(ierman Eurasia Company. A German pilot was wounded., but no passengers were hurt.
