ENJOYABLE RECEPTION
TOURISTS ENTERTAINED,
A large gathering of 250 were present at a social evening given in honour of the South African tourists from the Dominion Monarch in tlie Catholic Women's League rooms.
On arrival the guests were received by Mr. J. A. Albrecht, president, and Mrs. Albrecht, who was wearing a lovely froc-k of blue brocade and matching velvet coatee.
Mr. Botha-Rejd gave an interesting talk on present day worljl affairs in Africa. An excellent programme was presented, which included songs by Miss E. Carr and Mr. H, Gard, and duets on ✓the harp and violin by' Miss Eileen O'Carroll and Mr. Robert Emniett O'Carroll. Elocutionary items were given by Miss Peggi Cruicksliank and Miss Doreen Saunders. A play, which had won a prize in a recent competition, was also presented, the players being Mrs. Kingsley, Miss Joan Clinton, Miss Pat Pentyn, Miss Audrey Pentyn, Miss June Gifford and Miss Joyce Fleming.
