FINAL STAGES.
HARD-COURT TENNIS.
JONES AND STOTTER WIN.
COLDHAM BEST Df SINGIXS
In contrast with yesterday, when there was a packed gallery, there was only a small audience this niornin • when the Auckland Lawn Tennis As-o ciat ion's Easter hardcourt tournament entered its fourth day and concluding stage. Conditions were overcast, and there was a flight clown-court breeze, from which players gained equal advantages. The lirsl final of the day was the match in which C. P. Jones arid RStotter won the men's doubles title in Ihe third section, when they defeated the Kerr-Taylors. It was a fairly solid display, both sides hitting hard and excelling in overhead work. The winners were steadier, and Stutter passed his opponents at the net with tonic smart top-spin drives. Follow in- this match N". C. Coldbam beat R. R. Steele for the men's single* title in the second section. The first set saw Steele catching his opponent , out of position and volleying for some ' winning shots. In the second set Steele had two match points and lost them . both. He changed his style of play, but ; was unable to save the set. In the ■ third set Coldbam grew more confident. and the final tcore was a fair indication • of play. Results were: — FIRST SECTION. WOMEN'S DOUBLES. Final. Misses It. L. Bishop nnd J.
