Suggestions of gifts to the King and Queen when they, visit America recall rather odd presents which British Sovereigns have received from across the Atlantic. After the illness of the late King George V. he received from a Canadian girl a pair of embroidered mocassins "to keep his feet warm as he strolls about the Palace grounds." Much less sensible was a registered packet from Vermont, United States of America, addressed "His Majesty the King of England, Houses of Parliament, London." Reaching King Edward VII. just before his Coronation, it contained a gigantic prize potato!
