Erratic Play in Provincial Final— Bell Loses Four of First Five Holes— Nortl; and South Island Contests.

The Auckland provincial golf championship was won for the second year on end by H. W. Pavidge, the scratch player irom litirangi, when he yesterday defeated H. W. Bell, Otahuhu, l n n match was characterised by erratic patches by both players, Bell in particular making some extraordinary mistakes. The second North and South Island championships were decided at Palmerston North and Invercargill respectively, the winners being D H Graham, a young Wellington player, and a. V. Wright, lhe latter had not taken a prominent part in New Zealand golf since he won the national amateur championship at 1 itirangi in 1 933.
