Business was very quiet again on the Auckland Stock Kxchange this morning, lint tlii'if \* .is a further improvement in demand for Australian industrials. After a «,il<! Following Xorthorii Holler .Mills' increased dividend announeemeut a buyer came in for the ordinary shares at 10/6, while holders remained fit par. Hank shares looked firmer. Xew Zenlauds having slightly better buying offers at CI IT. i). with sellers 3d higher, while Nationals recovered to buyers £2 6/6 and sellers £2 7/3. Theie was little interest in Government securities. Activity at Noon. Bidding was fairly brink at the noon call, though chiefly confined to Australian securities. Broken Hill Proprietary continued their rising trend, selling freely from £2 10/0 t<j £3, while a sale in O. .T. Coles lit £3 10/6 showed a further rise of (id. WoQlworths (Sydney) also sold at. an advance. Bank shares were active at firm levels.
