EASTER SATURDAY MEEtINGi
Several of New Zealand's leading amateur athletes will be competing at thfe Te Kuiti sporte on Saturday. W. Pullafr, the Xew Zealand one and three-mile cfoamfrion, will come from Mrtisterton to compete against S. Wade and A. Dare, of Auckland, in an invitation handicap mile. K. McCoruiick, the present junior Dominion mile title-holder, will also be a fcothfretitar in thte event. P. F. Sharp" ley. triple winner at the Dominion championships at Napier this year, who broke the 220 yds 'hurdles record, will make an attempt on bhe ]20ydis hurdles record At this meeting. Misses D. and B. Lumley will be competitors in tihe ladies' events. The chief cycling contest on the programme will be the 49-mile road race. This will be the first big road race of the Benson, and should attract large entries. R. T. Taylor, J. GiUbanks, E. L. Hirpbes and several other prominent Auckland and Waikato riders will be competing in the shorter distances. Amateur wrestling matches will also be heM, and a contest in a mud ring l>etween two of Auckland's leading amateurs should arouse more than ordinary interest.
