Teachers Go Back To School
Keen interest is being taken by the teachers attending the refresher course in Auckland this week, and excellent results are anticipated. When the classes opened yesterday there were over nine hundred teachers present, representing city and suburban schools, and Education Board officials are delighted with the progress achieved. The cultural side is being given prominence in the course, the ultimate aim being the cultural development of the pupils to a greater pitch. Addressing the teachers at the Training Col-
lege, Mr. A. Bain, senior inspector of schools, j»ave explanatory details of the series and spoke of the objects of the course and the results it was hoped would be achieved. He also thanked Mr. D. Rae, principal of the Training College, for his co-operation, which had proved invaluable. Miss F. Taylor, president of the Auckland branch of the Teachers' Institute, gave an assurance of the whole-hearted support of the teachers. The course will conclude to-morrow afternoon.
