HUNGARY'S DEMANDS.
Wants 650 Square Miles Of Slovakia. NO SETTLEMENT REACHED. (Received 1 p.m.). LOXDOX, March 29. Hungary is demanding from Slovakia 650 square miles, with a population of 139,740, of whom 34,000 are Ruthenians. It is reliably stated in Bratislava that Slovakia is prepared to concede territory 15 miles wide along the Uz valley. Hungary is reported to be claiming double that. The Slovaks insist on compensation by return of territory east of Bratislava, including the Bratislava-Galanta railway, ceded under the Vienna award. M. Zvrskovec, leader of the Slovak delegation, has gone to Vienna to consult German authorities. The Committee of National Community in Prague ruled that only males over 21 will be eligible for membership of political organisations. This does not apply to members from the German minority. The committee will shortly introduce general "labour - duty," whereby every citizen will be required to give the State a specified amount of labour without pay. FLIGHT TO BRITAIN. PROMINENT CZECH CITIZENS. (Received 11 a.m.) COPENHAGEN, March 29. Fourteen prominent Czechs, including directors of the Skoda factory, flew to London this morning from Warsaw in a special Danish 'plane. A second batch will leave to-morrow.
