"THE WOMEN."
Keen demand for reservations is expected to-morrow morning when box plans for the record-breaking satire, "The Women," are opened. Easter Saturday is the date on which the 6how is scheduled to begin a season at His Majesty's Theatre. Heralded overseas as one of the most provocative and widely-discussed playe of the day, "The Women," which was written by Clare Boothe, created much controversy when produced in Australia. Of note will be the appearance in New Zealand of two actresses known here previously on the screen. Irene Purcell is well known here for her roles in such cinemas successes as "Man in Possession," "Biography" and "Accent on Youth." Another outstanding cast member will be Mary Dees, who achieved screen fame as the player who took the part of Jean , Harlow in "Saratoga," after the death of ' the famo'ie blonde. Notable for its bril--1 liant dialogue, "The Women" has a delight- ! ful satire which should make it one of the ! most successful plays to be presented in Auckland.
