GOLF.

NEW PUKEKGHE COURSE. OPENING NEXT MONTH. "Membership, conllcencc and club spirit have increased and finance has been improved to an unprecedented position," stated the report presented by the captain, Mr. M. R. Grierson, at the annual meeting of the Pukekohe Golf Club. It was mentioned that the transition from the old course on the racecourse at Pukekohe to the new course, constructed on the property on the Pukekohe-Runcimau Road purchased by the club some months ago, had 1 involved, difficulty and expense, but it represented a dream come true. The labour made available by the Government for the construction of the new course had advanced the project to a stage which it might have taken the club eight to ten years to reach otherwise. Club members, as working bees were now converting the building on the property into a clubhouse. About 40 members were present at the -meeting.. The president, Mr. J. RouUton, steet showed a £!)1« surplus of assets over liabilities. Officers elected were:—President, Mr. Rbulston; vice-presidients, Messrs. A. Schlaepfer, G. C. Johnson captain, Mr. Grierson; vice-captain, Dr. S. Douglas; secretary, Mr. C. Hansen; treasurer, Mr. L. M. Jobson ; joint handicappers and selectors, Messrs J. G. Niccol, H. T. Moore; auditor, Mr. M. S. Campbell: committee, Messrs. Niccol, P. Mills, K. Llddle, Moore, L. Sharp : match committee, Messrs. K. Liddle, F. Lumsden,' T. S. Marshall; delegates to Franklin Golf Association, Messrs. Grierson, Moore. The ladies' club elected the following officers; —President, Mrs. I. Motion; vicepresident, Mrs. A. Begg; captain. Miss L. Potter; vice-captain, Mrs. H. Moore; secretary, Mrs. L. Jobson; hundicapper and l selector, Mrs. P. Lumsden ; committee, Megdames M. Grierson, P. Mills, N. Bradauovich, J. Adams, Miss E. P. Savident ; match committee, Mesdames Moore, Bradanovich, Mills. Mr. Grierson announced that, should rain be experienced within the next few days, the new course could be opened) on April 15. If conditions remained' dry it would probably be as well to postpone the opening for a week or a fortnight. The meeting decided that the fixing of the opening date be left to the committee.

NORTH SHORE CLUB. —— i
