AREAS FOR SPORT.
TECHNICAL COLLEGE NEED. DISCUSSION BY PARENTS. Provision of eports areas and the need for general expansion of the college grounds were discussed at a meeting of the Seddon Memorial Parents-Teachers' Association, held at the school last night. Occasion was taken to welcome back the headmaster Mr. G. J. Park, who recently returned from an' overseas tour. Educational trends in . the United States, particularly technical education, were described by Mr. Park in an address to the association. He also mentioned the work of the English Advisory Council of Education, which favoured the combined type of technical school found in Auckland, New Plymouth and Nelson. A photograph of the laying of ''the college's foundation 6tone was presented to the school by Mrs. Hines. Prior to the meeting, the parents inspected the engineering department. A musical programme was given after the meeting by Mrs. Rattray, Miss O. Joll and Messrs. W. Gammell and B. Fulton.
