GIFT AFTERNOON.

An enjoyable afternoon was held yesterday in the private room of George Court and Sons' Tearooms, when Mrs. McKechnie and Mrs. Laird, were joint hostesses for a gift afternoon in honour of Miss Betty Sword, whose marriage takes place this month. The tea table was dainty in flowers of gold and cream roses. Among those present were:—Mesdames Sword, M. Laird, Baverstock, J. Foote, Kitcliingmau, R. Stewart, S. Graham, Flewellyn, P. Graham, McDonald, Cormack, Buchanan, Ellis.
