TRANSPORT BOARD.

ELECTION MEETINGS. Great interest is now being shown in the fQrthcoming Transport Board election, and meetings have been held in Ponsonby, Grey Lynn, City, Grafton and Parnell to hear the views of candidates selected and endorsed by the Auckland Citizens' and Ratepayers' Association. Speakers have expressed their views opposing any suggestion of levying a ttansport rate. This lias been heartily endorsed by every meeting, and thanks and confidence has been expressed in the association's candidates. Further meetings will be held until the whole district has been covered.
