POINT CHEVALIER CLUB.
DULUX CUP WON BY MAMAKTJ. RIPTIDE FINISHES FIRST. The Point Chevalier Sailing Club held a series of races yesterday afternoon, the chief event being the inter-club contest for the Dulux Cup, in boats of the ISft V class. The race started at 11.35 a.m. over two rounds of the usual course. It was a handicap race, the times beins given at the start. The finish was: Riptide (P.C.S.C.. ser), lh 35m 14s: Irina (T.8.C., 3Os), lm 39m 325: Jeanette (I'.C.C. ser). lh 40m 4s: Mamaru (R.A.Y.C, 6m), lh 40m 575: Arline (V.C.C., 6m), lh 43m 395: Jewel (P.C.S.C., 3m), lh 45m 10s; Torrens (D.Y.C., 4m). lh 4Sm 345; Surprise (T.Y.C.. sm), lh 48m 41s: Tiare (H.B.Y.C, 12m), lh 52m; Magic (lltn), lh 55m 225. Hawk and Paroro retired. The result on corrected times wae: Mamaru (Royal Akarana Yacht Club) 1. Riptide (Point Chevalier Sailinjr Club) 2, Irina (Point Chevalier Sailing Club) 3. The Point Chevalier Club's representatives were Riptide, which finished first, anJ Jewel, which finished sixth. The Dignan Cup, for V class boats, was sailed in conjunction with the previous race, and the result was: Riptide 1, winner of cup. Jewel 2. Surprise 3, Tiare. 4. The President's Cup. for the S class, resulted in a win for Sciinitar, with Leone 2, and Annette 3. The race for T. X and Y classes for tho Dixieland Cup was -won by Treasure, with Challenge 2, and Edna D. 3. Fourteen boats competed. Mr. C. Augustine's trophy for the Z class -was won by Tanya, Paddy 2, and Terror 3. Mr. J. Cleal's trophy for the Silver Fern class was won by Kandy Kid, with Rhythm 2. the only starters. The officers of the day were :—Starter. Mr. J. Cleal: timekeeper, Mr. Tj. Richards; .ludge. Mr. H. IbbPtson: recorders, Messrs. W. H.. Oliver, R. Hamilton, and S. Townley.
