SCHOOL FAIR.
EPSOM COMMITTEE. The grounds of the Epsom School presented a gay scene on Saturday afternoon, when a fair was held to raise funds for the school. Brightly - coloured flags and bunting decorated the stalls arranged in the grounds for the occasion, and during the afternoon a splendid programme of sports and varied entertainment was given by the children. The function was organised by the school committee, assisted by the headmaster, Mr. T. N. Hewlett and his etatf. The programme included sporte events, drill displays, folk dancing and competitions. Afternooh tea was nerved in the junior school building, and during the afternoon musical items were given by the Auckland Grammar School Boys' Band. At the conclusion of the fair prizes were presented to the winners by Mrs. E. McNaif, chairman of the the school committee. Those in charge or the stalls comprised: Afternoon tea, A. Sinclair, Mrs. T. N. Hewlett, Mrs. White Parsons, Mrs. W. McCalluni, Mrs. C. Petersen, Mrs. R. J. Grainger and Mrs. A. G. Evans 5 ofcke etall, Mrs. E. H. Driver, Mrs. H. E. Jordan and Mrs. H. L. Pilcher; ice cream, Mrs. G. Beavis, Mrs. L. Knight, Mrs. J. M. Elliffe, Miss J. Elliffe and Miss HE. Dunlop; sweets, Mrs. P. J. Pring, Mrs. S. G. Allen, Mrs. B. Smith, Mrs. C. N. ?7icholls, Mrs. K. StillweH, Mrs. T. U. Levien; produce, Mrs. J. B. Inwood, Mrs. W. Burns, Mrs. P. Hogan and Mies M. T. Taylor; novelties, Mr*. 0. P. Nuteford, Mrs. A. Galloway, Mrt. 0. Copeland and Mrs. 6. Smyth.
