LEAKING YACHT.
WAYFARER PUTS BACK.
REPAIRS AT AUCKLAND.
(By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) WHANGAREI, this day. The Auckland yacht Wayfarer, whiek left Auckland on February 10 for Sydney by way of Norfolk Island and Lord Howe Island, arrived ia the Whangaroa harbour late on Saturday afternoon, leaking badly. She i> to leave for Auckland to-day. The yacht was about 150 miles off the North Cape when she began to leak ■badly, and it was decided to return to Auckland, where the boat will be pot on the slip for repairs. When it was first decided to make the trip the crew, Messrs. Keith Reid, D. Rush, D. Hardy and B. Black, put the Wayfarer on the slip at Auckland, where a leak was attended to. The boat was then -tried out in the Gulf and proved satisfactory, but on the run up the coast to Russell she. developed .a leak in the stern, which necessitated repairs. When these had been carried out ehe sailed for Norfolk Island.
