STEEPLECHASE COURSE.
NOW COMPLETED. TO BE USED AT. EASTER. ■For some time past' the, Auckland Rac r ing Club has been- carrying "out- alteram tions to the track of the Ellerelie course and has brought in the property between the.-back stretch and Peach Parade,, which will be included .in the} steeplechase course. Formerly two temporary obstacles ;rwere jerected on the "back of the course proper and, after! crossing these, the horses "proceeded .up'''the hill. /Now; two fences have been erected on the new portion and the steeplechase* course carried out to them. This will obviate the necessity for putting temporary steeples along the back of the course proper. The work has now been completed and the new portion will be raced over for the first time at the Auckland autumn meeting at Easter.
