ST. VINCENT'S HOME.
FETE TO ASSIST FUNDS.
A garden fete will be held on Saturday afternoon in the grounds of the St. Vincent's Home of Compassion, Vermont Street, Ponsonby, to aid the funds of the home.
The new home now being constructed will cost about £20,000, and a particular effort is being made this year to make the fete a success. Ever since its establishment in Auckland the home has suffered from inadequate accommodation.
The late Mother Mary Aubert, founder of the Home of Conipifesion in the Dominion, lived to see the full realisation of her undertaking in Wellington. It is hoped that the completion of the new home in Auckland will enable her successors to equal the reputation which that foundation has gained as a haven for the hopelessly crippled and incurable as well as for the foundling and the aged.
