N.Z. POTATO BAN.
N.S.W. State Parliament Urges Lifting. PRESSURE ON CANBERRA (Received 11.30 a.m.) SYDNEY, this day. Ministerial members of the State Parliament feel that the Federal Government would be wise to lift the embargo on JCew Zealand potatoes in order to protect the consumer from "excessive prices." The Premier, Mr. B. S. Stevens, who for some time has been urging the Federal Government to permit New Zealand potatoes to enter Australia, stated that he would again urge the Commonwealth authorities to do so.
