AMUSEMENTS.
ROXY-TIVOLI. Thrills and chills a-plenty are provided in "The Patient in Room 18," which will have its first showing locally to-morrow at the Roxy and Tivoli Theatres. Most of the action takes place in a large hospital, and the story, based upon a novel by Mignon Eberhart, is unusual in that it tells how a detective solves several interdependent crimes while confined in the hospital as a patient himself. Patric Kuowles, the handsome young Englishman who recently appeared in "The Adventures of Robin Hood," and "It's Love I'm After," plays the part of the sleuth, and has the colourful name of Lance O'Leary. With a hospital as a background, it is only natural the heroine should be a nurse, and she is played by lovely young Ann Sheridan. Two murders and the theft of some radium worth £20,000 figure prominently in the plot. The recently formed screen family, "The Gambinis," are featured in the associate attraction, "Road Demon." Joan Valerie, Henry Arthur and Tom Beck are the stars, while Henry Armetta is again cast as Papa Gambini.
