LIFE-SAVING.

ROYAL SOCIETY'S AWARDS.

Mr. George ThomaS, formerly beach inspector of the Sydney Harbour Trust, is preparing 14 members of the Ponsonby Amateur Swimming Club to qualify for the Royal Life-saving Society's highest awards. A start is being made at Shelly Beach at 10 o'clock to-morrow morning, and member# of other clubs will be welcomed if they desire to co-operate with the Ponsonby swimmers in the course, which will extend over three Sundays.
