Gardiner had another good win. 23 —15, while the Auck. land Club rink, skipped by Maher, gave a splendid display to beat the strong Matamata team. Although he was down on the first few heads. Robertson easily accounted for Duncan (Remuera) on the 17th head. ■ . Queenin was cne point ahead of Michell, but a bad shot by the Rotorua skip on the 18th gave Michell the lead with a three. Whitiora scored another four on the next and, with Rotorua requiring six for a draw on the final head, Queenin was faced with an almost impossible task. Fine play by the skip, however, nearly achieved the desired objective, for with a drive he cut out two of the opponents' bowls and with the next drew a shot. On a measure being taken.
