MIDSUMMER MEETING.

Bright Frocking at Alexandra Park To-day.

The midsummer meeting of the Auckland Trotting Club opened at Alexandra Tark to-day under slightly overcast skies. Despite the weather, however, the day was sufficiently warm to encourage racegoers to wear their more attractive summer ensembles, and some gay colours and patterns were to be seen among the frocking of the day. Bright-coloured silk and print frocks, worn with light-weight swagger coats and boleros, were popular, while many of to-day's patrons chose the summer frock and small fur ensemble. The hat vogue of the day showed a definite tendency towards the smaller summer styles.
