Although much less work on new aerodromes is being done in Victoria than in Xew South Wales there is a steady increase in the number of "rounds in the State. Because of its "smaller area and the smaller number of medium*ized outback towns. Victoria, will never need nearly as ninny aerodromes as New South Wales, where several air services already run into the count rv. The only important, aerodrome now being erected in Victoria is at Bcndi-o Other towns are. however, likely to be-iii work before long. Victoria lias only two Federal Government aerodrome*— Kssoiidon and Kehma —compared with 17 in Queensland, 13 in Xew South Wales, 18 in West Australia, five, in South Australia, four in Tasmania, and. 13 in the Northern J eiTitory, Most of flip Government aerodromes were established when no other organisation was interested in providing facilities tor ihe services deemed necessary for the outback, and when there was "little reason for air services in Victoria.
