RECKLESS SMOKERS.
I notice when travelling, across the harbour to Dcvqpport on the vehicular ferry a notice ■warning 1 passengers against smoking on the trip over. * Tlio fact of a notice being necessary goes to prove there must be danger. Yet time after time I notice that as soon as the man who takes the tickets is out of the way the motorists in the front light up; sometimes when only half across the harbour. They are careful to wait till the coast is clear before they do it. Not only do the men smoke, but also the women", showing an utter disregard for the notice; also for the lives and property of other people. For what sort of a chance would anyone have, tightly jammed between, other cars, hardly able to opeii the doors, if a fire broke out or an explosion occurred?. These things happen in a second, as everyone knows, yet these people can't stop smoking ,011 a short run of ten minutes across the harbour. I would like to see them try it on in some countries. v ONE WHO HAS BEEN ABOUT.
