BRITISH CABINET.

Admiral To Have Charge Of Defence. NEW DOMINIONS BECRETARY. United Press Association.—Copyright. LOXDOX, January 29. It is officially announced that the following changes have been made in the British Ministry:— Secretary of State for the Dominions.—Sir Thomas Inskip. Minister for the Co-ordination of Defence.—Admiral of the Flee# Lord Chat field. Minister of Agriculture -.and Fisheries.—Sir Reginald Hugh DormanSmith. Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster. —Mr. W. S. Morrison. Paymaster-General.—Earl Winterton. Parliamentary Undersecretary of State for War. —The Karl of Munster. He replaces Lord Strathcona, who resigned. Mr. Morrison will assist Lord Chatfii'ld and answer for him in the House of Commons. Karl Winterton ceases to lie a member of the Cabinet but retains the secretaryship of the inter-Govem-incntal Kcfugees' Committee.

Sir Thomae Inekip relieves Mr. Malcolm MacDomild, Colonial Secretary, at the Dominion Office. He was formerly Minister for the Co-ordination of Defence, Admiral of the Fleet Lord Chatfield, who succeeds him, wae First Sea Lord and Chief of the Naval Staff from 1933 until last year, when he retired and was succeeded by Admirai Sir Roger Backhouse.

The new Minister of Agriculture, Sir Reginald H. Dorman-Smibh, ie Conservative member of the House of Commons for the Petersfield division of Hampshire. He was president of the National Farmers' Uniwi in 1936-37, and passed through Auckland in April of last year after attending, as Leader of the British delegation, the conference of Empire primaryproducers in Sydney. Earl ■ Winterton joined the Cabinet in March, 1938, as Chancellor of the Duohy of Lancaster to deal with all major air questions on the Service eide. The Earl of Munster, whom Lord Winterton succeeds at Paymaster-General, ie 33 years of age, and inherited fche title from his uncle in 1928.
