It w»« stated to-day that forty nomine tione have been received by the Labour Representation Committee to g<. forward for selection for the full Labour "ticket" which in to be run in connection with the Auckland Transport, Board election in May next. It is understood that the present chairman, the Hon. H. G. R. Meson has not nominated, and it is definitely Mated that Mr. W. T. Anderton, MP for Kdeii, another of the sitting members, will not contest a seat. Mr Anderton stated this morning that he had not nominated owing to the fart that his Parliamentary duties were excessive, and that he would have to give up all his time to Parliamentary work. * The other sitting Labour member!) have nominated. They are the Hon F E. Lark, J. fS.iyegh, E. J. Phelan, l! C. McC'lintock and J. 8. Montgomerie. One new nomination is that of Mr. C. G. Grunt, a former member of the Auckland City Council. A selection ballot for the choice of Labour candidates will be held bv the Labour Representation Committee* next month. The date of the election is to lie fixed by the Auckland Transport Hoard, which will hold its next meeting on February 13. There are six city seats on the board, two *eats representing the Onchiingu and One Tree Hill districts, and two Beat* representing the Mount Albert, Mount Kden and Newmarket district*. At present seven seats are held by Labour representatives, the other member* of the board being Mr. J. A. ('. Alliini, holding one of the city seatc, ami Me»»m, H. A. Anderson and W. H. Nngle, holding the two seats allotted to the Mount Albert, Mount Eden and Newmarket districts.
