CLAIM FOR DAMAGES.

INSPECTOR AS DEFENDANT. (By Telegraph.—Presa Association.) CARTERTON, this day. At tile Magistrate** Court at Greytown ,T. E. Oliver a farmer, of Papawai, proceeded against V. P. Calcinar, chief vehicle inspector of the Transport Department, claiming £1345/ damages. The claim arose out of a collision on the Greytown highway in August last. The plaintiff's truck, when proceeding out of a private road on the main road, *a« struck by defendant'# car. Plaintiff alleged negligence on the part of defendant, who claimed that plaintiff waa negligent in not keeping a good look out. After two hours of conflicting evidence judgment was given for defendant, with costs.
