FATAL FALL.
I SEAMAN'S DEATH. INTOXICATED OX TRAMCAR. A verdict that death was due to cerebral haemorrhage was returned by the coroner, Mr. F. K. Hunt, at an inquest into the .death of Timothy Sullivan, seaman, aged 38, who died* in the Auckland Hospital on January 4. Deceased was a single man, with no fixed place of abode, and at the time of his death was residing at 02, Grey Avenue. Evidence was given that at 10.50 p.m. on January 3 deceased boarded a citybound car at a stop in Franklin Road. He was in an intoxicated condition and was on the rear platform when the car reached the corner of Nelson and Victoria Streets. As the tramcar took the corner deceased fell off, receiving a severe injury to his head. He was taken to the Auckland Hospital, where he died the following day. In finding that the cause of death was the result of deceased accidentally falling off the tramcar, the coroner said that no blame was attachable to the motorman or conductor.
