Intoxioation while in charge of a motor vehicle was admitted by Jens itasmuesen Huseby, Piopio, when charged' at the local Magistrate's Court to-day. The police evidence was that iHtweby came to Te Awainutu last Saturday morning with two companions in a motor truck. They had several drinks, purchased some goods both at Te Awainutu and Kihikihl, and were on their homeward journey when the truck ran off the road about a mile south of Kibikihi, travelled tM> feet, and came to rest on top ot a fence. Tho vehicle | was extensively damaged, but the occupants cecaped with bruises and abrasions. Huseby'a counsel said his client had lost his vehicle, which he had purchased recently, and that the medical evidence did not disclose that he was very drunk. The Bench, Messrs. W. Jeffery and W. Swain, justices of the peace, decided to Impoce a fine of £l!i, with cancellation of accused's driving license for two years.
