PRAMS ON BUSES.
I have juist returned from a visit- to Wellington. C'liristcliurch and Dunedin, where one could not fail to notice that largre prams are lifted on the trams and buses. Auckland tram conductors are very obliging in lifting puehchair;! on the trams and off again, and very often on to the path. The buses on one suburban service, however, »tc simply lie worst I have ever known. They refuse to take a folding cane pushchair. They teD tie mothers that the insurance company objects. If that is. so, it w quite time that the State took over the buses; then some assistance would be ffiven to mothers and their babies. I know mothers who have to walk considerable distances every time they go shopping, sometime* with two chiklren, while the bases pace their doors, ami quite often during the day are only half-full of passengers. It is qnfte time something' was done to help these yomg mothers, who very often are not strong enough to walk so far. It is when the babies are small that the mother needs some assiataaee in thi* way. I would say if a carrier were nut on the buses large enough to take a comfortable pushchair for'small babk*it would be most welcome. GRAJfDPAItEXT.
